What Does a School Psychologist Do?
 
Conduct parent, teacher, and child interviews. Administer intellectual, academic, behavioral, and personality assessments. Consult with parents and professionals in the field, including teachers and administrators. Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team to determine eligibility for special services. Participate in Individual Education Plan and Individual Family Service Plan meetings. Integrate and report assessment results. Provide recommendations to administrators, teachers and parents. Develop academic and behavioral intervention plans. Monitor progress and student outcomes. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions. Provide social skill instruction to individual classrooms and students. Participate in the Teacher Assistance Team, Response to Intervention Team, Section 504 Team, and School Improvement Team.  Assist in the implementation of Positive Behavioral Supports for individual classrooms and students.
